Butterscotch Icebox Cookies

            1   cup  brown sugar         3-1/2  cups  flour
            1   cup  white sugar         1     tsp   baking soda
            1/2  cups  butter, room      1/2   tsp   salt
                      temperature        1     tsp   vanilla
            1/2  cups  lard              1/2   cups  chopped nuts
            2         eggs
            Procedure
            1  Cream butter, lard and sugar.  Add well beaten eggs and the
              other ingredients.  Mix should be kind of dry, do not add liquid.
              Form into a loaf and refrigerate.  Slice into 1/4" thick pieces
              and place on baking sheet.  Bake 375° until done.
